Ceftisa is the most preferred oral broad-spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic. In terms of bacteriological and clinical efficacy, it has excellent activity against common tough infections encountered. Among the oral beta-lactams, this has the broadest spectrum and highest activity, making it empiric therapy of choice when the causative organism is not known. Among diseases, this is shown to be effective in respiratory tract infections including sinusitis, enteric fever, urinary tract infectios, bronchitis, and skin and common ENT infections.

Ceftisa contains Cefpodoxime 200 mg and 100 dispersible tablets in strips of 10, to be taken just before meals in a twice daily dosage. Also available as 100 mg and 50 mg dispersable tablets and 50 mg of dry syrups.

Each dispersible tablet of Ceftisa 100 DT contains Cefpodoxime Proxetil IP equivalent to Cefpodoxime 100 mg and Each film-coated tablet of Ceftisa 200 contains Cefpodoxime Proxetil USP equivalent to Cefpodoxime 200 mg; Each 5 ml of reconstitued suspension of Ceftisa 50 Dry Syrup contains Cefpodoxime Proxetil IP equivalent to Cefpodoxime 50 mg; Each dispersible tablet of Ceftisa 50 DT contains Cefpodoxime Proxetil IP equivalent to Cefpodoxime 50 mg
